Designed for a family with two young boys. Our clients asked us to separate the bedrooms from other areas of the house especially the master and guest rooms.
Unique bathroom designs have an element of surprise with hidden elements.
Two living areas, adjacent yet able to be closed off. Indoor outdoor access was also on the important list. With the eastern courtyard giving an expansive area with some roof cover, offering alfresco dining. This area catches the sun perfectly in the morning yet offers shade later in the day when the summer heat can get overpowering.
Louvers were added as overlights in the living area so that excess heat can be exhausted in the hotter months.
Built in 2007, this house was prior to the current requirements. Yet the owners wanted the house to be future proofed so insulation was installed well above code requirements, and double glazing installed throughout. Other touches include a custom designed heat pump system for both heating and cooling in an efficient way.
